Terms Of Service

1. Who We Are

We are Horn & Ivory, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.

2. What We Sell

We sell the Horn & Ivory Kit, a door paint kit delivered to your address, and Horn & Ivory Concierge, a service in which a Horn & Ivory Engineer paints your front door for you.

3. Placing An Order

Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract between us begins when we email you to confirm your order. If we cannot accept an order, we will tell you and refund any payment taken.

Your paint is mixed to order, so an order cannot be changed once it is placed.

4. Prices And Payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Horn & Ivory is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. The Kit is £149 with free shipping. Concierge is £499.

We take payment in full when you place your order. Payments are handled securely by Stripe and PayPal.

5. Delivery Of The Kit

We deliver the Kit, free of charge, to addresses in mainland UK. Your paint is mixed to order, and we aim to deliver within 3 to 5 days of confirming your order.

6. Concierge Visits

Concierge is available across all of London. You choose a date and a morning or afternoon visit when you book. Visits run Monday to Saturday. Morning visits are from 9am to 1pm and afternoon visits are from 1pm to 6pm. Your Engineer applies two coats.

To rearrange a visit, give us at least 48 hours' notice. A rearrangement fee of £99 applies.

Please make sure your Engineer can reach your front door at the time you booked. If nobody is there to give your Engineer access, the visit is cancelled.

7. Changing Your Mind

You can return an unopened Kit within 14 days of delivery for a refund. You pay the return postage. Because your paint is mixed to order, we cannot accept a Kit that has been opened.

Concierge bookings are non-refundable.

This does not affect your legal rights.

8. Colours

We show every colour as carefully as we can. Screens vary, so the colour on your door may differ slightly from the colour on your screen.

9. Using The Kit

Please follow the Horn & Ivory Client Guide. The Kit is made for wooden, metal, uPVC and composite front doors. One Kit paints one front door with two coats.

Paint in dry conditions, above 10°C. Results depend on the condition of your door and on following the guide.

10. If Something Is Wrong

If your order arrives damaged, faulty or incomplete, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will send a free replacement.

You have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects them.

11. Our Responsibility To You

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

We supply the Kit and Concierge for domestic and private use only. We are not liable for business losses, including loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your legal rights in relation to our products and services.

12. The Law That Applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts there.
